Understanding the dynamics of the manosphere
How bloviating losers have built a movement and, ultimately, a cult.
“How can I raise feminist sons who are immune to misogynist influencers?” It’s one of the most common questions I get, and also one of the most demoralizing.
Red pillers, the manosphere, professional misogynists, low value losers whom most women would deem unfuckable, incels…no matter what you call them, they’ve quickly come to dominate the conversation around gender. Men who have never spoken to a woman with a career now claim to be experts on career women. And aging right-wing blowhards worship them, eager as they are to cozy up to any man with apparent power.
Their philosophy is infiltrating dating culture, workplaces, and virtually every online space. And it’s quickly corrupting the minds and critical thinking of young men, turning them into nodding, drooling yes-men incapable of critical thought.
Pushing back against this regressive, anti-intellectual culture begins with understanding it. So I’ve subjected myself to hours and hours of these dudes’ content so you don’t have to.
Here’s what I’ve come to understand about how and why it works.
