Wow... the whole section "Understand how much grace the women in your life have already given you" punched me square in the middle of the chest just now.
I have never, not once, thought of my relationship with my wife in this way, let alone each of the relationships with women I've ever had. Now thinking about the "huge gamble" she took to start dating me as just that--a massive gamble--got me thinking of all the literal hundreds (if not thousands) of times women I've known have taken a gamble on me in that same way, with me being completely oblivious to at times having their literal life in my hands.
Whew... I don't even know how to process that... but I'm still sending you my utmost gratitude for making me grapple with it now.
Who read this list of 10 and counted what score out of 10 was relevant to a specific man they know?
Did you find a sense of relief if their “score” was low ie. noting only one or two sexist behaviours in the man you thought of?
Did you congratulate yourself for hanging out with one of the good ones?
I did.
I need to raise my bar.
The minimum acceptable “score” for this list is zero sexist behaviours.
No man in our lives, especially the closest man in our lives, should be displaying any sexist behaviours.
